Terrific cast in legendarily troubled Francis Ford Coppola production; indeed more has been written about the surrounding Robert Evans scandal than the film itself. A mixture of musical numbers and gangster drama that works much of the time, distinguished by some memorable supporting turns (including Laurence Fishburne, appearing briefly in the role that he'd later be centerpieced in with "Hoodlum.")
