Rob Zombie sequelized his remake with eye on quick late August profits; stubbornly, the Weinstein Company insisted on holding tight to their head to head release date with "The Final Destination" whereupon the 3-D opponent promptly thrashed it at the turnstiles. Not to be outdone, the company quickly announced a third installment using the newly revived and hotter than ever format.
